This New Yorker piece on How Posters Became Art is so excellent and not just because it’s the perfect subtweet of a link to send that roommate/boyfriend/co-worker in your life who’s confused owning a Che Guevara/Woodstock/The Smiths poster with having a personality…though that’ll def. do the trick. But it’s also a smart, critical look at posters as a medium that exists at the intersection of business and art (sound familiar?), and how weird it is that something destined to be ephemeral can end up as this weird trophy of personal taste (also familiar?? cc: everyone displaying a 7-month old
