if you have the shoppies + wanna support this newsletter...
Hey guys!
I’ve been waffling on how to say this for a while because there’s a definite weirdness to asking people to buy something when things are so rough. But if you *do* have the shoppies and are looking for a way to support this newsletter, there’s no better way than buying a Deez Links tote bag or pin from my merch shop.
Here’s the sitch: The folks at DFTBA took a generous gamble on me when I asked last winter if they could, you know, whip up some merch with sausages and alien chicks reading the news on them — and they haven’t asked me to pay a cent. So I just want to at least be able to sell enough pins and totes to pay them back on the existing inventory!
Shit has been so crazy with the pandemic (um remember when the pins were literally held up in China because, you know) that I now have no designs to turn into a Merchandi$e Ca$h Queen. But I would really love to make good on my end for them (right now we are 1/5 of the way there!).
(That said, times are tough and I totally get it if you can’t. But just in case you’re like “yike why is she sending me all these merch promo emails” in the next few weeks, you’ll know why.)
Here’s what the pins look like, (they’re $10) pinned on an old version of the totes. This pic is from my friend Natasha, who designed it all:
And here’s what the new tote bag looks like, as modeled by another dear friend (and Wirecutter staff writer, so you KNOW she has the taste) Anna at The Last Party (totes are $22):
If you get some merch, send some pics!! And to everyone who’s already ordered some ….thank you. ily.
