You probably knew I loved Norman Rush’s Mating a lot, but did you know I loved it enough to book a solo weekend trip up to Niagara Falls earlier this month in an effort to EXPERIENCE FLOW AND ABUNDANCE in person? (Such are the thoughts one rattles off after eating two special chocolate squares and embarking on an eight-hour bus tour, driven by a retired pipe-fitter who also apparently does these amazing Jackson Pollockian paintings in his garage in Buffalo…Jeff, I’d give you 20 stars on Google Reviews if I could).
Really enjoyed the article on gatekeeping. It seems like creators are now *expected* to link their outfits (or what have you), or else risk coming across as an elitist, entitled, not-a-girl's-girl. But very much agree w/ Ann, in that "not everything is for everyone! And sometimes the act of sharing does more harm than good." Thanks for sharing!!

As a Buffalonian, can confirm: there are so many amazing things happening in the garages of Western NY. Record stores, bars… I haven’t met Jeff and his paintings, but he probably gets his beef on weck from my butcher uncle. Also, as a woman, can confirm: your advice in Dear Prudie, especially about how boring it is to be confronted with sexist pity at parties, was utterly perfect.
Later Dater is so good! Love that it’s getting a little bit of spotlight 🥰
