There are three types of relationships people have with high fashion: either you love it, can’t care less about it, or just don’t quite understand it — it might as well be happening in some glitter-soaked parallel universe far far away.
Thus: the genius of ELLE’s Front Row Virgin series, which they’ve been publishing as part of their fashion week coverage for years and consists of unpretentious and hilarious reviews of fashion shows “by randos.”
This fall, editors sent a bunch of comedians to shows, and the result is extremely enjoyable lampooning of fashion world excess and personalities that doesn’t require deep atelier knowledge to get into. Our favorite: The Vibe at Eckhaus Latta Was Like a Messy Bun That Actually Looks Good — Something I Have Never Pulled Off. Now that’s some relatable shit right there.
