welcome to the james parker fan club
We at Deez Links do not generally give a shit about British soccer or boxing or prog rock, but boy can The Atlantic’s James Parker spin a magisterial yarn about all of those things and more, with his latest piece/review on Paul McCartney, who “travels in a pocket universe of delight” being the newest must-read. Leave it only to Parker to make writing about the Beatles in 2018 anything but jaded or try-hard.
More delightful Paul McCartney content if you missed it earlier this summer: imagine seeing this!!!
More James Parker content: We’ll be lowered into our grave still quoting this dreamy perfect line from “The Whitest Music Ever” (that prog rock piece) wherein he wrote: “they disdained the tune, which is the infinitely precious sound of the universe rhyming with one’s own brain.”
Isn’t that gorgeous?
