weird alison roman flex, but ok
I get that NYT food columnist Alison Roman making an entire bougie Thanksgiving meal in her “very small kitchen” “with an extremely small refrigerator” and “even smaller oven” is supposed to be like, inspiring to those of us who do not get to regularly fux with more than 2 square feet of counter space……....YET SOMEHOW it just feels like a v. ostentatious humblebrag????
Like oh just IN CASE you didn’t feel intimidated enough by the prospect of dry-brining an entire bird in the first place, now you also have to contend with the fact that any dish you struggle to create, Roman could whip up blindfolded with a half-cracked hot plate (note: am being dramatic, she uses an actual oven, etc.).
Ugh anyway, don’t let my projected culinary insecurities get in the way because the most important part of that link = the **nine** whole Alison Roman recipes linked in that piece that you can access **for free**, no fancy Cooking subscription necessary!! (You just have to register with your email and probably be down with receiving some mouthwatering Cooking promos for a few weeks afterward, which, I mean, there are worse fates.)
Also...COOL JOB ALERT:Vanity Fair’s Hive seeks senior editor to join rollicking upscale tabloid; must have strong feelings on DJ D-Sol and Ted Cruz’s beard. Tell ‘em we sent you!!
