Your Real Biological Clock Is You’re Going To Die is a (albeit perhaps awkwardly-worded) v. buzzy opinion piece floating around the web lately from Hmm Daily, and it kind of gives you a n idea of what the op-ed blog / Awl wannabe wants to actually be: a place for new and contrarian ~voices~ to share ideas — though we’re not e n t i r e l y sure if menacing people (women) with the threat of mortality is the most fresh & new argument for having kids rn.

Anyway, this CJR piece spotlights Hmm Daily (which turns out to be part of the Civil network — i.e., the “newsmaking platform” trying to make blockchain work) and its editor/the writer of that 1,500-word pregnancy scare. It’s a lot of “well I worked at all the write early 00s blogs so of course this blog will be a success” to be honest, so it’ll be...interesting to watch if Hmm Daily does end up producing more viral-y posts that make it on the general radar like this biological clock thing.

Also, Hmm Daily, we get that self deprecation is in right now, but this is not the most self-hating sign-up plea you’ve ever seen or what??
