Today, Dean Baquet and Marty Baron are giving us major #bestiegoals with this long Politico piece on the fact that yes, these two guys are running the two most important newspapers in America rn, but also they are, and I quote, “legit pals.”
Highlights include: an epic professional rivalry that began long before either were at the Post/Times, a shared love for art (they say they go to art galleries together sometimes, and used to send each other pics of art they wanted to buy), and also one cringey use of the phrase “muscular organ of accountability,” just FYI.
