the details of Always Be My Maybe are what make it

Oh you KNOW we watched Always Be My Maybe this weekend and are still savoring its gorgeous treatment of relationships (esp. the familial ones), and this Atlantic BTS piece on how Ali Wong, Randall Park and director Nahnatchka Khan made it all happen is so fun and highlights what made the movie singular — i.e. that shoe scene! someone should have warned our tear ducts!!! (Meanwhile……….why does The New York Times’ review read like a clueless friend who, after the entire table has finally died down from gut-busting laughter over a fantastic joke, is like waiiiiiiit guys i don’t get it?? HmMmMm.)
