The best graphic on social distancing
Yep okay, so ya girl definitely picked the wildest possible time to be out of the loop for a couple of weeks, but I’m back home, ping-ponging between batch cooking ten quarts of bolognese and going for a stressy speed walks down to Brooklyn Bridge Park and back. (Walks are okay, right??) How are you guys holding up?
I’ve been thinking a lot about what to write for this newsletter for the coming weeks, especially because of all the pandemonium online/IRL. It feels a bit gauche to talk about anything besides what is happening, so I want to keep using these daily emails to send over things I’ve been finding helpful/informative/comforting. If you’re going out of your mind at home, maybe you can hit reply and send me some cool things to read, and I’ll send you some more back, and we’ll get through this together okay?
Today’s link is to the Washington Post’s corona simulator graphic, which illustrates the whole point of social distancing spectacularly (as well as the mind-boggling speed and scale of how an outbreak spreads). You’ve all seen the “flatten the curve” charts, but this series does the work of explaining exactly what we need to do to get there.
Take care of yourselves!!!
