The age of “expertise”

also a good time to check if you’re still paying for Ryan Lizza’s Substack…

Per the NYT’s “Where to Eat” newsletter, the flour tortilla revolution is here, but my biggest question is…who’s doing the Sweetgreen tortillas for those new wraps? Of the three days/week I now spend in FiDi, at least one lunch ends up being the chicken caesar wrap (add crispy rice to texturemaxx), which I first tried a few weeks ago on a lark and now am kind of obsessed with. To me, a reliable healthyish lunch item obtainable in multiple locations is a kind of holy grail; I even ate one for dinner the other day whilst marooned in Flatiron.
The secret, I think, is entirely in the tortilla. It’s got just the right texture and stretch — when they don’t cut the wrap in half all the way, you get to pull it apart at your desk in a pretty satisfying way. NOT AN AD. Just a genuine lunch enthusiast dispatch. —D.

Stuff in today’s letter: Substack x Polymarket and the guru economy, that horrifying report on the data industry gig workers, Ryan Lizza’s long-term posting strategy, Should You Read That: McKay Coppins Gambling Edition, Ryan Murphy’s actually unimaginative “Love Story.”
