This entire Bachelor in Paradise shit hurricane has me thinking about this insane 2014 longform piece, The Contestant, from The California Sunday Magazine, which covers how a young Peruvian woman got caught up in the machinery of a huge reality show complex—as well as the media frenzy, since that’s always a 2-for-1 deal — to devastating consequences.
