PSA: please do not be insane about edit tests, y’all!
This Columbia Journalism Review piece on how batshit crazy edit tests have gotten is a horror show of past and future traumas that we’re all apparently required to endure.
Clearly, someone (HR departments, upper management, and anyone awful enough to take free ideas from potential applicants, we’re looking at y’all) needs to end the madness, but also, it appears increasingly worth it for big brains everywhere to think more seriously about media as a labor market — one that can’t just operate on free ideas and work proffered in exchange for a “chance,” ya feel me??
