Profiles of the women, by the women, BUT FOR ERR’ONE
Only two days left in Women’s History Month, and ya girl has been v. pleasantly surprised to find that highlighting work about/by women in the media for Deez Links has been far less of a strugg than she secretly feared. It’s for sure thanks to some pretty woke publications like The Washington Post, who’s opened up its archives to resurface profiles of cool ladies, written by cool ladies -- esp. been enjoying the one about “sassy First Daughter” Alice Roosevelt Longworth myself; what’s your fave?
Ok ok it’s hump day, and the sun is shining, and reading is hard, so here also is a cool illustrated story, “How New York Gets Its Water, from NYT’s Emily S. Rueb,* which is nice to look at and made learning about ~water~ like, actually super interesting?? And it also solves a mystery concerning New York bagels and why they are manna from heaven.
*Actual illustrations are by a dude illustrator named Josh, but hey, it’s 2016, and we can all be cool with some inter-gender collab, y/n??
