our fave running longread
As lung-frosting temps start separating us fairweather joggers from the legit ones, may we upvote this incredible oldie but goodie masterclass in feature writing from Runner’s World à la 2013: Bret, Unbroken. It’s a seemingly simple story of a Wisconsin man who found relief in running after a lifetime of dealing with the fallout from a childhood accident, and it’s also maybe the best case ever of using the second-person POV to bring you, the reader, into a helluva story.
