Unless you’re this out of touch, you know that unpaid internships, unfortunately, make the media biz go ‘round, and it’s the same situation abroad, particularly in London, where 4-week unpaid (or poorly paid) stints are the norm. Enter PressPad, a sort of journalism AirBnB / couchsurfing Facebook group starting out in the UK that is stepping up to connect young interns with free/cheap housing via industry mentors and hosts.

Love a good journos-banding-together-to-help-the-youths story, but let’s just hope the screening process for the hosts is on lock, because there’s still a lotta Matt Lauers still out there, y’all.
