That screenshot of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez mid-gasp from winning the Democratic primary this summer is an image we’ve returned to over and over in the past months, like some kind of Goop-approved meditative practice. It’s indicative how, even after the news cycle moves on, these kinds of pictures (graininess notwithstanding) manage to touch that third rail in our psyche and unlock something heady and good.
