Hail to the new jefe
Oooh, you gotta check out Elle’s foray into augmented reality with its Women in Hollywood issue. It’s very Esquire 2012 tbh, but I kind of think David Granger was sort of ahead of his time back then, because how many people actually owned & knew how to use an iPad back then? (Less than 25%, according to Pew here). Also, Pokemon Go was not invented yet, so the general public most likely still confused AR with that weird reading program in grade school that made you take quizzes.
Other cool things that a women’s magazine is doing: British Vogue is using “real women” instead of models in the magazine, although I think a better headline would just be “British Vogue putting successful professionals in the spotlight.” Anti-model sentiment is always a little weird IMO, because like……..they are real people, no? Beautiful, leggy, could-wear-a-grocery-bag-as-a-dress-and-look-amazing people, but still….real?
And last but not least, you may have heard: The Atlantic’s new editor-in-chief is our very own Jeffrey Goldberg! Apparently we’ve bribed the man once already with ponies; not sure what kind of equine animals were brought in this time.
Like Deez Links? Forward to Jeff maybe??
