gawker.com's new owner

Looks like it’s just about official: the now-dormant Gawker.com and its archives were sold to Bryan Goldberg, co-founder of Bleacher Report and founder of Bustle, and media Twitter is aflutter. It’s no Peter Thiel-esque salting of the earth, but as tech reporter Caroline O’Donovan points out, there’s reason to assume Goldberg isn’t going to be doing the Gawk any favors...

Personally, we’ll always have issues with a dude who refers to the “income gap” in quotes and thinks putting “news and politics right besides fashion tips” was on par with reinventing the entire women’s media landscape...so watch this space, because the meanest and most nostalgic Gawker alums aren’t wont to let any of this go gently into the night.
