down with corporate BS, up with subway dancing, and lol @ millennial dating/marketing
Three links today because oh my goodness, there is some fine ass internet content this week:
1. This AMAZING video documentary:” The Boys Who Dance On The Subway”, from production company Hayden 5 of the group of young men who dance on New York subways. If you’ve ever been on said subway and sort of snottily been like ugh WHY are they doing this rn, they are ruining my train zen (I’m so guilty of this), you HAVE to watch this. Gorgeously shot with beautiful storytelling — this is one of those rare 10-minute video that you’ll be thinking about for a while.
2. Why “TRONC” is actually not a laughing matter, as argued by this mega profound essay from First Draft. If you didn’t hear, Tribune Publishing rebranded itself with like, the worst acronym/name ever, and Twitter media had a FIELD. DAY. But at the end of it, we should remember that this kind of corporate BS isn’t just stupid, it’s a slap in the face to the institution of journalism and all that is sacrificed for it.
3. “Work Life, Personal Life Both Spent Desperately Trying To Appeal To Women 18 To 34,” a most excellent Onion piece on the lunacy that is millennial marketing (esp. when you’re a millennial yourself) and like, dating, but you already knew that shit was nuts.
I leave you with this gif, re: this news:*
