deez links for the soul
I love reading Millennial-social-media-and-generational-values thinkpieces like I love going home and having a tub of Trader Joe’s Belgian Chocolate Pudding for dinner: at best, it’s a distraction from like, the healthful nutrients that should be central to your life; at worst, it will slowly but surely erode your body/identity/pride.
HOWEVER, if you must read something today, read this: It’s Never Been Harder To Be Young, from NY Mag’s advice columnist, Heather Havrilesky. It’s empathetic, but not fluffy; authoritative, but for a reason — Havrilesky has been an advice columnist for years — and just basically a fuckin bowl of hot, healing chicken soup for the ~Millennial~ soul.
For more reading that doesn't make you hate everything, I also highly recommend the New Yorker's piece on this hospice nurse, which left me on the morning subway contemplating mortality but like, in a peaceful yoga-while-smoking-weed* sort of way.
