Writers writin’ about writing will remain a genre of endless potential for as long as wordsmithing and self-doubt go hand-in-hand, but we especially like Medium’s Day Job interview series for getting into serious detail on how a dozen authors got their writing done during/outside of their day jobs.

The writer who jotted ideas down during her shifts at Lush is our fave, and obviously, the author behind this whole project, Mike Gardner, has a good story about being a paramedic and a writer — thoughhhhhhhhhh ok, lol, I’m sorry, but is it not a total dude confidence move to include yourself as the subject of your own series on “accomplished authors” (or to rank your story first) or what???
