Brb nominating this for Facebook Comment Response Hall of Fame

A profoundly interesting read I spied today on Facebook, ironically enough, is this editorial: What I Said When My White Friend Asked For My Black Opinion on White Privilege, which Good Black News editor-in-chief Lori Lakin wrote in response to a friend’s Facebook post.

It’s what led me to discover Lakin’s website Good Black News, which serves, as the name suggests, as “your source for the good things black people do, give and receive all over the world.” All media outlets working on improving their representation of their audiences: take some serious notes on this.

(Also, Lakin was too gracious to point this out, but maybe liiiiiiike don’t tag your friends of color in a public post asking for them to explain privilege to you?? Maybe liiiiike, I don’t know, reach out to them in person first?? Just a thought).
