As a new Pew (lol, #newpew) study shows, print books are still the Regina George of the reading world, reigning high over e-books and audio books because their pages are big and full of secrets. This is stellar news for the publishing world/our aspiring novelist selves trying to claw their ways out of the Upside Down, except maybe less so for trees and like, Kindle?
My v. superficial theory: books are portable and don’t need charging and all that, sure, but they also do what no other reading form can — aka, humblebrag about your literary tastes/personality like no Kindle can.
Like, can any medium REALLY replace the resulting effect of burying your nose in a hardcover copy of Are Men Necessary? on a packed train??
And also, unrelated, but Vogue’s apparently liberated its inner sassy Democrat millennial — and it’s kind of great??
Like Deez Links? Forward to your fave hardcover.
