Theme of today’s links: media outlets using social media in some v. lit ways
The Hindustan Times is using Snapchat filters to let sexual assault survivors speak freely. While it seems a bit bizarre to picture someone in like, puppy ears, giving such harrowing testimonials, it’s definitely a creative use of what was pretty much solely designed to stoke our selfie egos (selfiegos?).
NY Mag’s v. on trend Instagram illustration on Bernie’s at-long-fucking-last endorsement today. Guys, Hillz is truly gonna #catchthemall.
The Economist is posting “audiograms” on Facebook to promote their podcasts. TBD how many people actually come to FB to listen to audio instead of silently judging engagement photos, but ~innovative~ nonetheless. (Also I guess you can do both?)
The Washington Post is quite on that Tumblr game, most notably with their crowdsourced black history project.
