A concept: love

Have you guys seen these dazzlingly romantic covers for the latest issue of NYT Magazine yet?? All of the subjects on the covers are real couples, crowdsourced from a call put out on social media, who then got to be photographed while kissing on a truck driving around New York City. Real romantic stuff!

A good reminder that your readers are an invaluable source of money/attention but also inspiration. Also, we just generally enjoy that this “love” issue isn’t explicitly for Valentine’s Day (or even Pride month). Celebrating “ordinary” love on a seemingly average summer day makes it all the more unpretentious and genuine. Sometimes you don’t need a fancy hyper-branded concept; sometimes love is enough.
