2005 flashback & commencement speech crack

It’s not like I have anything against David Foster Wallace, but four years+ of dealing with journalism peers of the male variety who lived to introduce themselves as DFW disciples can be off-putting, to say the least.

Hence, there was much pause given before clicking on this YouTube video of DFW’s 2005 Kenyon College commencement speech, recommended to me by the inimitable Robbie T. But 22 rapturous minutes later, I get it. J school dudes: 1, Deez: 0. To say that this video is a must-watch, on just another hopeless Thursday morning in Trump’s America, is an understatement of the highest order.
